Possible reasons include incorrect device time or timezone settings, daylight-saving changes, cached pages, and unsupported location assumptions. Check your device settings and try refreshing the page.
A timezone defines the civil time used in a region. It typically includes a standard offset from UTC and may include daylight-saving adjustments.
A UTC offset is the difference in hours and minutes from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Examples include UTC+06:00 and UTC-05:00.
Both are common global references. UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the modern time standard used for precise coordination, while GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is a timezone that is effectively the same as UTC.
EST (Eastern Standard Time) is UTC-05:00. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) is UTC-04:00. Daylight-saving rules determine which one applies in many locations during different times of the year.

Converting across timezones can move the result to the previous or next calendar day. This is normal and depends on the UTC offset difference between the source and destination timezones.
Countdown and Date Calculation Questions

It compares the current or selected time with the next target occurrence. The remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds are displayed as a countdown.
The next occurrence may be interpreted as the following day when clearly stated. For example, if you check "How long until 1:00 PM" and it is already 2:00 PM, the tool should show the time until 1:00 PM tomorrow.
The selected past date is compared with the current or chosen reference date. The elapsed time is then expressed in years, months, days, hours, minutes, or seconds depending on the tool.
Calendar months have different lengths (28–31 days), while total days is a fixed elapsed count. For example, 1 month may be 30 or 31 days depending on the specific calendar months involved.
Correct date calculations use actual calendar dates and month lengths. This means leap years are naturally accounted for when calculating between dates.
Exact hour-level calculations across timezone transitions may be affected. When a clock jumps forward or backward, the actual elapsed time can differ from a simple arithmetic calculation.
How Long Ago calculates elapsed duration since a past date or moment. What Time Was It calculates the earlier clock time from a specified duration ago.
How Long focuses on the remaining duration until a target clock time, while How Many Hours expresses the remaining period primarily in hours.
Total days are divided into full seven-day weeks and remaining days. For example, 20 days is 2 weeks and 6 days.
Possible reasons include timezone differences, local midnight variations, daylight-saving transitions, inclusive counting, and device-date inconsistencies. Always verify important dates independently.
Timer and Browser Alarm Questions
How Timiix timers and alarms work in your browser.
The selected duration is converted into a target finishing timestamp. The timer then displays the remaining time by comparing the current time with the target timestamp.
Supported timer tools can preserve the remaining duration and calculate a new finish timestamp when resumed. Look for pause and resume controls on the timer page.
A browser-based timer generally cannot continue reliably after its page is fully closed. The timer will stop when the tab is closed.
Browsers may throttle timers in inactive tabs to save system resources. This can cause background timers to appear delayed or to update less frequently.
Device suspension can pause browser execution, and the visual result may update when the device wakes. The actual elapsed time may not match the displayed time.
Sound playback should require user interaction and may be restricted by browser autoplay policies. Some browsers require the user to interact with the page before audio can play.
Notification permission should never be requested without a clear user action, such as clicking a button. Timiix respects this principle and only asks for permissions when you explicitly request them.

Time Converter and Calculator Questions
How Timiix converters and calculators work.
A converter changes a value or format (e.g., minutes to hours, military time to standard), while a calculator applies a formula to answer a broader question (e.g., elapsed time, work hours).
Use the formula: Hours = Minutes ÷ 60. For example, 150 minutes = 2.5 hours (2 hours and 30 minutes).
Decimal hours express time as a decimal fraction of an hour. For example, 150 minutes = 2.5 decimal hours, which is equivalent to 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The selected duration is added to the starting timestamp. For example, adding 90 minutes to 2:00 PM gives 3:30 PM.
The duration is removed from the starting date and time. For example, subtracting 90 minutes from 3:30 PM gives 2:00 PM.
Elapsed Time = End Time − Start Time. This provides the total duration between two points in time.
Unix or Epoch time commonly represents seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC. It is a widely used timestamp format in software systems.
Military time generally uses a 24-hour format. For example, 1:00 PM is 1300, and 11:00 PM is 2300. It avoids the AM/PM ambiguity.
Adding or subtracting time may move the result to another calendar day. For example, adding 3 hours to 11:00 PM gives 2:00 AM the next day.

The average is approximately 4.348 weeks, but calendar months vary in length from 28 to 31 days.
Months contain different numbers of days (28–31). Converting days directly to months without specifying the calendar months involved is therefore an approximation.
The next occurrence is used when the date has already passed in the current year. For example, if today is December 26, the next Christmas is counted as next year.
Some holidays follow weekday rules (e.g., Thanksgiving), lunar calendars (e.g., Ramadan, Easter), religious calendars, or official announcements. These can vary each year.
Holidays, seasons, daylight-saving changes, school breaks, and observances can differ by location. Always verify regional details for official purposes.
Concerts, launches, shopping events, sports events, and public schedules may be changed by organizers. Timiix provides approximate dates but does not guarantee event schedules.
